Ying still wasn’t sure how he got separated from his parents and siblings but… He was very much lost. He didn’t know how to get back, now somewhere in the Wastelands. He knew he wasn’t supposed to be here, but the Zorua/Eevee mix really didn’t know how he got here. He thought he heard crying so went to see if he could help, then next thing he knew he was no longer in the safety of Lizard Tail Ranch, or under the watchful eyes of his parents.
Ying finally sat down, tears in his own eyes. He let out a mournful cry, part of him hoping perhaps his parents would hear him from wherever he currently was. Ying wasn’t usually one to cry or show his hurts but… he was scared, lost, and hungry. If there was ever a time to cry it was now. “A-Nianggg!! B-babaaaa!” He whaled, tears in his eyes.
“Hhhheey nowww… Thheeerree theerreee… we can help yoouuu…” A voice, warbly and raspy, near whispered in Ying’s ear, causing him to jump and look. There, a little spirit floated right by him, a smile on its face. Ying cocked his head, sniffling and trying to stop his tears.
“Y-you can help me? C-can you help me find my A-Niang and Baba? I lost them…”
“Ssoulss that comee heree tend to get stttuucckk… buut… we can heeellpp you adappptttt… little ghooosssttt…”
“A-adapt? I-I’m not just a ghost you know! I’m still living!”
“Livvviinnngg or noootttt… we coulllddd not fiiinnnddd youuu awayyy outtt… buttt we cannnn proteeecctt youuu… helllppp youuu… youuu onllyyy needddd help ussss in retuuurrnnn…” The voice whispers.
“Help how?”
“Proootecctt us in tuuurrrnnn… helllppp usss out of heeerrreeee if youu find a waaayy ouuttt… Give usss…. Safeetttyyy….”
Ying cocked his head and considered the spirits words. He didn’t know how to get out anyways and… well if all he had to do in return was help them… well he would have wanted to help them anyways. “Okay. I’ll protect you, you protect me and help me!”
“Smmartttt chillllddd… We’ll beee… good friiieeennndddsss…” The spirit grinned as it whispered. And then wrapped around Ying, before another two spirits seemed to come out of hiding now that Ying had agreed to protect them. “Alll of ussss will be goooddd friieenndddsss…”
