My Canon backstory for Henry:

"In 1919, a father and son worked for Sir Nigel Gresley at Doncaster Works, he request the two to built a freelance design of a hybrid locomotive that he had drawn; the two agreed with the project and started to work on the engine in secrecy. The result was Henry, this time he was a successful hybrid-built engine; mixed between an LNER Gresley A1 and an GNR Atlantic C1. It was astounding for Sir Nigel to see an awkward type of locomotive that he had planned come to fruition; Henry was given a few test runs and proved his performance greatly. Then came in Sir Topham Hatt I; he was desperate in finding another big engine to work for his railway, so he went to Sir Nigel Gresley to buy an engine and he chose Henry for the job to be part of the NWR; at first, there was some drama going on of why Henry is a mix between an A1 and a C1 but in the end, he purchased Henry anyways."

(Take note: This would change significantly of how Henry arrived on Sodor as a successful locomotive instead of a failure; he wouldn't be using Welsh Coal like in the orginals, he would still get stuck in the tunnel and Topham purchased Gordon, the Kipper incident still happens.)
