Description
This is my last art project I did in high school before graduating. It's part of a contest involving drawings of the hands. The winner gets published in a greeting card that is sent by the company to all its customers. I almost won. I think it was going to be either mine or my fellow classmate Maggie Sather, and they picked hers, to make her the winner two years in a row.Anyway I like this drawing and I hope to do more in college.

I remember the story of a similar painting... the artist had a deal with his brother that they would each work five years in the coal mines to support the other through art school.. but when the artist was finished with the five years, his brother couldn't draw anymore, his hands had been broken so many times.. so the artist drew his brother's hands in the same form, clasped together..
yeah. anyway, the artist was a famous one. i just don't remember.
it's really beautiful though...

This is powerful and emotional, whether or not you intended it to be so. The simple pose of the hands belies just how strong they can be when folded....I belive in the power of prayer. This is a lovely piece that, to me, reflects that.

It's hard to tell if it's just a picture or a piece of art at first glance. I really like this one because I can relate to the activity. Prayer is a big part of my life, best way of communicating with God
