Description The 1904 Presidential Election was the 33rd quadrennial presidential election, held on Tuesday, November 8, 1904. Democrat candidate Thomas Woodrow Wilson defeated Republican candidate and former President William McKinley, being sworn in for his first term in March 1905 as the 18th President of the United States. It was also the first election in twelve years that saw a third party candidate win some electoral votes, in this case being Eugene Debs of the Socialist Party of America winning 94 electoral votes
