Description
Eeeyyy finally a proper ref sheet for this gal! This took waaaaaay too long and I've been a little reluctant to post it, but here it is :'D. I didn't intend for it to be so complicated and contain so much text, so you don't need to read the whole thing if you don't want to :'). It's just for reference, after all. I did change her design a little, but none of the changes were too drastic. If there are any spelling or grammatical errors, let me know ^^. I proof-read it multiple times, but some mistakes may have slipped by my eye.
NOTE: The name "Blue Ridgewing" DOES NOT have ANYTHING to do with Wings of Fire, and neither does Alberta. It's just a name I came up with on a whim because I thought it sounded cool.
Art and character belong to me.

This reference sheet is looking really cool!! I'm so glad I could finally sit down and comment on it!
I personally really liked reading all the info on here. I'm not much of a reader, but I couldn't help myself in this case. It was all very relevant to her design and very believable, which kept me interested. I usually have issues with a lot of text when it doesn't really provide any descriptiveness or reasoning, i.e. many paragraphs about the character's backstory.
As for Alberta herself, I really like how she looks ;A;! She is very friendly looking and has a very unique silhouette that makes it easy to recognise her. I really like her markings and the way you only used the most saturated blue on her head to bring attention there. I also really appreciate the thoughts gone into her build. She looks really agile and light, which makes sense for the focus on speed.
I just love all the thoughts you have put into everything. It really feels like you have studied animals and science profoundly when making your decisions on everything. I think it really brings her up to a whole other level as a believable character.
This must've taken a very long time X.X It turned out really wonderfully and the reference looks very clean and tidy. The colors makes it pop without detracting from it's readability! I don't know why you were hesitant to post it though, you should be very proud of this!

AAAaa thank you for the awesome feedback!! I always love reading your comments
I was initially hesitant to post it because I was afraid that I'd scare people away with the blocks of text, but I'm super glad that they're interesting to read! The program I was using to put in text held some sort of grudge against me and made everything difficult, so I'm super relieved that my efforts paid off XD (Paint Tool SAI doesn't have a preset tool for text ).
I have a habit when designing characters of trying to make everything scientifically plausible and accurate, although sometimes that doesn't really work, especially with mythological creatures such as dragons :'D. I probably spent a good few hours researching different kinds of wings and if dragons of Alberta's size would theoretically be able to fly. I also learned a lot more about plants and chloroplasts than I needed to :').
I had a lot of fun with it though, and I'm super glad you like it! <33

dsahdkjsad I am relieved to hear that xD I am usually hesitant to comment despite wanting to ;A;!!
That makes sense. I don't really know what other people feel about lots of text.. I guess they'll just look at and appreciate the artwork and ignore the text rather than not look at it entirely? This is just guessed from my own behaviour though.
I didn't know how painful it was to add text until I tried it myself. Thankfully PS supports it, so that I could resize the boxes as needed without jumping programs, but it was certainly not pleasant regardless XD
I love doing that too! I feel it makes the characters much more interesting! It is indeed not fully possible, but it's fun to try anyway, even if it will never be 100% likely. xD
AND YES :'D You learn so much from it too. Win-win!!
YOU ARE VERY WELCOME<3
Also darnit, Alberta is hard to draw. How does one draw cute/big eyed characters!??!

Such a beautiful character!
I read the whole ref anyway before--I love all the thought you put into her character and design!
(also can relate to that WoF comparison thing. Sometimes I still get people favoriting my Night Riders stuff in Wings of Fire folders XD)

Thank you! <33
(Yeah, I've seen a few artists complain about the same thing. I don't mind it too much, but it can get a little annoying XD)

(I just find it funny. When it happens to me, I find it hard to tell how people think it's WoF when Joy Ang's designs are so distinct. I know other people get pretty upset though.)
