"Tatami Turf"
While wrapping up work on Arty Siege earlier in the year I found myself yearning to draw a more detailed #Tableturf scene.
In a way, this piece is the #Chihayafuru fanart I've never been able to draw.
Although the game of #Karuta exists in the #Splatoon world as its own thing I couldn't help but think of the atmosphere and mood of the Chihayafuru anime when I wanted to paint a Tableturf scene.
Thus, the poem is a 5-7-5-7-7 piece inspired by the Ogura Hyakunin Isshu. I wrote it based on the feeling of poem 77.
I'd love to go into depth about it but it's a bit gauche to post an analysis of your own poetry, huh? Maybe it'll be a blog post some time.
While not everything came out the way I envisioned it I'm proud to be able to call this painting done. Thank you for reading!
