Description
The SD39T-2 was a special request by the Sacramento Southeastern Railroad for a more cost-effective alternative to the SD40T-2. 50 more SD39-2s were ordered in this configuration, the only units to be this way. This was to clear out any remaining F Units still running around in the SSE’s Irma Pass Subdivision. These would later be replaced by the stronger C40-8Ws.
