Description
Snow had fallen in the United States (obviously except for Hawaii). This included Maryland. Cities such as Silver Springs, Rockville, and even Baltimore had white snow falling from the sky. Usually you’d expect all of the engines to be happy about this. You’d be wrong. However, surprisingly, that engine is Lily, the cheerful and possibly anime-like LRC.One day, Mr. Collins was at the sheds, telling everyone about their jobs.
Mr. Collins: Since the weather here is snowy as hell, all electric engines will be out of service for the time being. That is excluding the Roanoke Branch, as they have icicle breakers. I also have some, but however, they are pretty limited. Eric, you don’t mind icicles on your roof, do you?
Eric: Not at all sir.
Mr. Collins: Right. You will be taking care of the icicles.
Eric: Yes sir.
Eric pulls out of the shed and sits in a nearby siding, ready for the crewmen to install snowplows and icicle breakers.
Mr. Collins: Alright, so, the assignments I will be giving will be mainly for our diesels. Snake, you will be taking care of the Westbound Coal Local to Thurmond. Alec, you will be taking the Screaming Eagle to Toledo. Lily, you will be clearing the line over at the CAGY Route. Fanta, you will be taking care of intercity services with Chuck and Jasper. Cody should be over in the railcar servicing facility. And finally, Grant, you will be leading an intermodal on an NS Freight to Kansas City. You’ll be going with a Wedge Plow. Lily, you’ll be needing a Russel Snow Plow.
Lily: Right
Later on, Lily was speeding across going south.
Lily: Stupid snow getting in my windscreen. Ugh...
Down in Silver Springs, Lily had to wait for the Capitol Limited when all the sudden it flies by, scaring Lily and getting some more snow onto her.
Lily: AAAAAAAH! Grrrrrr... Goddamn trains getting snow onto me...
She was down in Cayce, when her mind lets her rant and ramble about snow, causing her to lose focus.
Lily: Why must trains get snow all over me?
Lily’s Engineer: Lily.
Lily: I mean, it gets very annoying to me! I have to deal with snow in my eyes! I’m smaller compared to them!
Lily’s Brakeman: Lily!
Lily: Plus, it feels so cold! It feels like I’m in a pool during this cold weather!
Lily’s Engineer: LILY LOOK OUT!!!
Lily: Huh? AAH!!!
Lily crashes into a big snowdrift. Her snowplow was ricocheted off the snowdrift, while Lily herself had crunched through the back part of the snowplow, went into the snowdrift, and derailed.
Lily’s Engineer: You silly engine, you were too focused on complaining about snow, and here you are on your side in this snowdrift. We’re gonna have to tell Mr. Collins about what happened. He won’t be pleased.
Lily’s Brakeman: Um, we’re snowed in. We’re also trapped from the snowplow that Lily ended up wrecking.
Lily’s Engineer picks up the radio.
Lily’s Engineer: You alright over there Davis?
Snowplow Engineer Davis: Yeah. I’m fine. You?
Lily’s Engineer: We’re snowed in with Lily. She went into the drift and flipped on her side.
Snowplow Engineer Davis: I’m gonna break through the window and get help. Hopefully the power lines are still u- Ah shit! Jordan, You aren’t gonna like this. You’re probably gonna be stuck in Lily for a while.
Engineer Jordan: Why? What’s wrong?
Snowplow Engineer Davis: The snowplow cut some wires after a rollover happened.
Engineer Jordan: Fuck! Well Lily. Thanks for that. I REALLY wanted to get into a snowdrift...
Lily: Heh heh...
As the hours pass. Lily eventually lost power due to fuel starvation.
Engineer Jordan: Well, help is far away... We’re finished...
A Gong Bell can be heard getting closer.
Engineer Jordan: Davis! Get out there! There’s another train coming!
Indeed there was, Alec arrives with a rotary snowplow on the front end, and a high speed snow spreader on the other end.
Alec: Driver. Stop. Someone’s flagging us down.
Alec’s Driver stops the train, then gets out of the train.
Snowplow Engineer Davis: Hey Mia.
Engineer Mia: What’s going on Davis? Where’s Lily?
Snowplow Engineer Davis: That’s why we flagged you guys down. She went into the snowdrift and derailed.
Engineer Mia: No shit. Why didn’t you guys stop her?
Snowplow Engineer Davis: Well, we didn’t think we’d encounter snowdrifts like this, so we let Lily take control. However, she was distracted and went straight into it.
Engineer Mia: Huh. Power lines are down. I’ll go get help. You guys stay here.
Engineer Mia then climbs back aboard Alec.
Alec: What’s wrong driver?
Engineer Mia: Lily’s stuck in the snow. Let’s go get help.
Alec: Right.
Alec backs up and leaves with 3 honks of his K5L.
Later on, he comes back with Mr. Collins, Snake, and a chain link. The chain link is hooked to Lily, and Alec tugs her out. She was so cold that she had a tint of blue on her. She was then pulled back up north.
When they returned to Baltimore, Mr. Collins spoke to Lily strictly.
Mr. Collins: Lily, this partially isn’t your fault, but you being distracted led you to being trapped in a snowdrift. You need to focus more and talk less about your problems with snow.
Lily: Yes sir...
Mr. Collins: Now. I know you feel tired after being in that snow, so I’ll let Alec do your job while you rest.
Lily: Thanks sir...
Lily was then serviced, and was sent into her shed. Once she rolled in, she slowly drifted off to sleep.
