I think what throws me off in this picture is the eyes.
But first off, Everything else looks pretty good! The shading is nice and the anatomy looks decent and the pose is something new. The arms are nice but I would try harder when it came to the hands next time. For example, the right hand would have looked nice if it was sort of holding onto or grasping the left arm.
Ok, back to the eyes.
In realistic anatomy, you would divide the face vertically into five equal parts. Going left to right, we'll label them 1-5
1: Skin, empty space.
2: Your right eye.
3: The distance between your eyes, also where your nose goes.
4: Your left eye:
5: Skin, empty space.
In a cartoony style, those rules can be bent and changed but still need to be looked at. In a style like yours; where your people share the same common figures; the five parts should be followed more closely. The eyes are too far apart to be appealing. And they are crooked from the center line. (Note how you can see a little bit of space between the left eye and the edge of the face, but you can't see that with the right eye.)
(Also, I say in YOUR style because in cases of cartoons like Hey Arnold! or Phineas and Ferb, character heads have a variety of shapes and the artists have devised a way to NOT follow the rules while still making their characters appealing.)
When you are drawing, use guidelines indicating where you'll be placing the eyes. It'll help you get a better idea of the face and what you're trying to accomplish.
