It seems to me as though you took a photo of an AH-64 Apache and applied some serious photo-manipulation + insane digital artistry to make this magnificent piece. Am I close to the mark?

If I didn't know better I would think it was real. Very nicely done.

almost burger like and really makes me wonder if bigger crafts would even be feasible AND fast

Magnificently done, awesome and intimidating at first glance, and I'm making no criticism against your skills as an artist, but it's aerodynamically flawed. I understand that the aerobrakes are deployed, but it's otherwise still built to stay on the ground with everything angled forward. I see no lifting surface. I see no thrust vectoring to overcome the aerodynamic down-pinning, and everything about it generates drag.
Here's how to make this design fly:
remove the top-of-the-wing features
Incease the wingspan
Extend the nosegear to increase the angle of attack, bringing the rear fuselage parallel to the ground

Actually it does look fly-worthy, if you look at it as a helo or VTOL. Notice the intakes at top are open and the downward turbulent air below wings, blurring focus.

@ westernnomad - It floats by pixie dust dude.Β Β It scoops up pixies during combat and grinds them up in the boxes on the wings.Β Ground up pixies are better than anti-gravity.Β They absorb g's and keep the pilot brain from squeezing out his eyeballs under heavy accelerations. Β That's what provides the lift.Β You don't know anything about aerodynamics at all.Β Either that or magical hamsters in the wheels.

Valid points but I have to mention that this is a submission for Star Citizen (Unless I am mistaken) for the gunship contest so they took some artist liberty since this is also a spacecraft. Plus if they follow your points I think we'll have a product that looks too close to Pelican from Halo.

Assuming that it is a VTOL, I can be convinced, but it is not visibly in evidence. For similar flight dynamics, consider the A-4 Skyhawk, which also has aerodynamic pinning issues, overcome with an extended nose gear, and a steep attitude (nose-up) at lower speed. I think artistic license is fine, but what separates science fiction from a space fantasy is the attention to scientific principles, and the explanation of such principles to the producers and editors could give the artist an edge above and beyond "it looks bad-ass".
I have heard of this game, and I am eager for its release. I sincerely wish for the artist's success.

Indeed. This is a think rope to walk on. Nevertheless I think this is a very amazing piece and I wish great success for both the artist and the Star Citizen / Squadron 42 endeavor.

is there a chance that you would be willing to make more views of the rest of this machine? I'd love to make this into a 3D model, with your permission of course but I'd be shooting in the dark when it comes to the sides and back end of this machine.
