Actually, Linkle was a purposed character from Hyrule Warriors. She was(according to the concept art) Link's sister. I guess Nintendo got wind of people mistaking Link for a girl, and ended up giving him a cute sister to avoid any more mix ups. I love it how Navi is annoyed that Linkle is showing off the goods.
