I'd like to stop counting for a while.
The days just slip and slideLike they always did
The trouble is my head
Won't let me forget
I took one last good look around
So many unusual sounds
I gotta get my feet on the ground

Interesting visual image of counting time. I think of all the time I wasted dreaming about a future that I really couldn't control! I like the clock itself. It looks so innocent of the havoc it wreaks on the mortal. You can see its touch on the table it's on, the leaves in the back round and even on the clockface itself. Even time is not immune to time!

i think it keeps counting because of the batteries 
regarding the concept is too important ...unfortunately people are losing the sense of time !
think of it this way...you are told that you have cancer and going to die in 6 months, do you do what you are doing right now !!!
