Help please!I really liked this drawing and was kind enough to send me the hi-res pencils.
I started working on in… and then hit a wall: there is something that really is not working here and I can’t figure it out.
I don’t know if it’s the colors, the bg… or what.
Please… can someone help me finish it?

The border color needs to be changed; an off the wall kind of color, something that doesn't really match anything else; red, teal, etc.
On a side note the main character's chest is a bit odd to me; the shoulders are a bit too bulky looking for a female, as well as her clavicle lines should be further in towards the throat, boobs should also be leaning more towards the left of the frame.

I have to agree with Plugin848y though.
If that is going to be your background then it will be most distractive and completely out of shape with the rest. I am no colouring God myself but! I suggest to take a peek at other Zenescope pin-ups. Another ide is to maybe match the Art Nouvea Swirls with the golden frame from the mirror.
Or make the res gold to so it looks like a frame inside a frame with four other frames ( Art Inception )

I think it looks wonderful! As you're not happy with it, have you tried different backgrounds? maybe one without the optical illusion style to it, so that way the eye is drawn to the characters and not to the cubes that are being made by the squares?
You're highlighting and shadows are amazing!!
