I like the way you did this,

but Che......... was no hero, not even a "GOOD" man... you should hear what he did in his OWN words... he killed and berated his men because they would not kill to get "What they wanted..." In way of others property, and what else they had...

It sure was a "bad day", when Che ordered the murder of peasant soldiers who joined so they could only have something to eat... in other words.. the poor.

where exactly did you get your information from? I would really like to know

I have a masters in history, I have also studied Cuban history for half my life, I am not a communist, you are wrong.

It's not your fault, whomever informed you with that nonsense obviously watches a lot of documentaries on government controlled television programs than he reads books.

Thank you if you've taken the time to read this

Cracks me up.... I have a cousin who is a Prof. and she said to me.. "We teach what we WANT them to think." Grabs you right where your brain was. The information was from Che himself... by interview of one who was recording it. (on paper mind you)

does she happen to be in america?
where i've studied the government has no control over the education system my friend, infact, after the first year we were not tought anything, we chose in which way we went, the lecturers we only there to guide us if needed to, sorry if i'm being rude but this is not a place to talk about this, kind of takes the focus away from the amazing artwork Alex has done

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

stilgar In reply to femineta [2009-04-29 13:09:58 +0000 UTC]

I can agree about the artwork... You are right.. But, for a country who has open trade with every country BUT the US, why then do they still have cars from the 50's driving around half beaten up and some try to use them as BOATS to leave the country... You do not see anyone leaving the US to other close nations by inner-tubes, and makeshift floatation devices.... But if not here to comment where?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

femineta In reply to stilgar [2009-04-29 13:38:24 +0000 UTC]

You are absolutely correct my friend, they do not try to escape in the US, they die on the streets, do you know how many people are on the streets of USA, homeless, living in poverty? the number is 4x the population of Cuba. So infact it's the other way round, you probaly know it too, but been made to be not aware of it by your clever government, they feed "happy family" movies down your throats and don't allow charities to put up poverty posters, funny enough i used to work for a advertising company who were specifically fined because we used "stomach churning" (as the called it) material/images!

I have nothing against the people of USA, i cannot hate, i don't want to hate, it's not in my nature, nor should anyone else in this world. Reasons to hate each other are given by govenrments to gain power, they swim in money while we are made to think a few thousand in our accounts is enough for a happy life.

stilgar In reply to femineta [2009-04-29 14:17:27 +0000 UTC]

You know, if I had the chance I would like to SEE Cuba for myself, because it is rare that the government holds the same views as the people. It is the people whom I feel sorry for.. I am NOT tolerant of "Castro Bros." or the people who get Che wrong, as is the case in MOST cases. a country is more than the governing body.. it is the people, the places, so beautiful once you get to know or see them which makes the impact on your life. As we may not agree, I can guess we can agree on that.

Are you saying that your pic is supposed to be Benicio Del Toro (Portraying Che)
Or was that link the comparison to shut me up?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

LucifersAdvocate In reply to OriginalNick [2014-05-26 04:56:09 +0000 UTC]

I'm saying you were exactly right, it is Benicio Del Toro in the image. I think the link I sent you is the exact image Alex photo manipulated. That image is definitely Del Toro portraying Che from the latest movie.

I'm not sure if Alex knew or not but I find it hilarious that he used an image of and actor portraying the person rather than the actual person. For instance Alex did a nice work of Hunter Thompson that is up here, it would be like using an image of Johnny Depp to portray him instead. You were the only person that seemed to notice and I wanted to compliment you on catching it.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

OriginalNick In reply to LucifersAdvocate [2014-05-26 20:31:12 +0000 UTC]

Well, that was gonna be my next guess...
Funny... I have a pic here somewhere where I was trying to draw Johnny Depp as Hunter.. and by the time I finished it ended up looking completely like Hunter S. Thompson - even though I only used Depp references..
(OK, that wasn't that funny.. Β )
