Description
Trying out a more brushy FX style with inspiration from Aivazovsky.Inspired by my trips to Croatia, Moscow, New York and San Francisco.
Creation time: one week
Acrylics, Photoshop CS4
Real size: 8'000x11'000 pixels or 100x74cm print

by the way, i have an idea for a contest. you'll have to agree of course, it will be your contest. but maybe for in the near future for a painting of yours.
you have a contest about something you draw. everybody sends in a concept containing just text. you pick out the best ones with several other jurymembers, ill be one if you please. after that you keep the 10 best ones and put them up in your journal as a poll. you let the peeps decide which one is the very best one.
and as first price, just 1 price, you make that piece and say the concept was thought up by this and that person.

I fixed teh dress and water evar so slightly in 5 more hours....
I'm not gonna spend moar hours fixing teh water when I'm not even sure what's wrong since it looks fine to me.... and I've another 6 pieces due to finish this month.

It does seem to me the detail falls off at the very bottom, but it doesn't affect the overall image in any major way.

I love it.. it reminds me of the Image they gave of Victoria (the bad vampires chick in the second Twilight book) of her standing in the middle of the ocean and her hair looking like a fire. It's beautiful and impressive!

i think the buildings and the water work well but the rock the girl stands on is very two dimensional compared to her dress. i understand what you've done with the water but as a note of criticism (which im probably not authorised to give based on my own talent) i think the rock could use some more detail
you could gradually blend it in with the water to ease the contrast a bit but its too harsh at the moment for me. it makes her look sort of pasted on.
