What inspired me to draw, originally, was Pokemon. When I watched it I was like "I have to draw like this!", after a while, anime lost it's feel... a lot. My avatar is simply the same as it was a few years ago because I refuse to change it until I get an idea for an avatar that I'm happy with.
It's really strange when it comes to inspiration for me, there isn't a single driving force other than surprising myself, doing better than I did before, and for self-improvement. I mean, I still get inspired to draw specific drawings, but there's a back-up inspiration that's always there to get better. So I'm more than happy to break out an anatomy book and peruse through the pages trying to figure out how to do something.
What's also inspiring is how quickly I can make myself improve in one sitting of studying if I'm focused.
Art is sort-of like draining a never-ending pool using only a hose. At first you've really got to try to get anything out, but after a while it just flows on it's own and you can watch it unfold before your eyes. Except... the artist is the hose. If that makes any sense, haha.
There a bubbles and times when you get worried that it's dried up, when you're lacking inspiration or motivation, but it starts flowing again, you just have to let it flow.

My brother and his tatto-like doodles is what inspired 3yr-old me to draw. And I've been drawing almost nonstop for the past 17 years

I... I DUNNO! In fact, recently, I have been having an art block...
It's not that my flow of creativity has been stunted, more so that when I put pen to paper (or pen to tablet in this case) nothing comes out the way I want it.
I have been switching back and forth between mediums-- listening to different music-- watching/reading different things... I don't know what's wrong...

Sometimes I just get an image in my head that I really want to draw.
Other times I can't think of anything to do, so I turn on some music, grab my art supplies, and let my mind wander.
I've found that my best work tends to come from the latter situation.

Sometimes it can be as simple as a photograph. But usually I decide to draw my fiction story characters, just so I have some reference and don't forget what color their hair is.

its an aviator hat which is like those winter hat thingys which cover the ears he has a white one with a star
together we have like 10 of these hats and always wear them to bear canadas cold
