Description Created this piece for my friend,  mcdnalds2016 , who's going through a really tough time after an incident on Discord.

Context: I don't know all the details but he apparently got real mad at someone (for a reason that I'm sure was justified) on a discord server which they banned him for without even giving him a chance to apologize! And he's been beating himself up over it ever since!

Life can throw us curveballs, and it's completely human to feel intense emotions like anger. What's important is how we cope from these moments. Dre, and anyone else who might be feeling down after a similar experience, remember that it's okay to take a step back and reflect. There is nothing wrong with you! And You are not defined by a single incident or reaction.  If anyone refuses to forgive you for being angry, then they're the ones who are in the wrong.

Everyone makes mistakes and that's a part of growing. It doesn't make you a nuisance or too opinionated; it makes you human. Your enthusiasm and the way you express yourself is unique to you, and while some people like those @$$holes on discord might not understand or appreciate it, there are those who will. Don't let your experience make you feel like you have to suppress your true self.

The only reason you should ever feel bad for getting angry at someone is if it drives them to suicide. And even then, there's always the chance that they're faking it in an attempt make you feel bad and/or cancel you!

It's also a reminder for those moderating discord servers or any other social media groups to act with empathy. Before making a decision that affects someone’s standing in a community, consider the power of dialogue and understanding. Give them a chance to apologize and/or defend themselves because not doing so will put YOU in the wrong!

Social media can be tough, but let's at least try to work towards making it a space for growth and empathy. 💙
