Description
What do Grey Foxes and Raccoon Dogs have in common? These are the only Canidae species adept at climbing trees! Sturdy, hooked claws allow Grey Foxes to go up the vertical tree trunk. They use this ability to escape predators, chase prey, find new food sources (like berries) and, sometimes, make dens up in the treesOof... It's been a while. But I'm finally done with this piece
I think working on a sketch and color thumbnail paid off in the end
Inevitably, some anatomical changes still had to be made, but overall it went much smoother than when I had to guess half of the anatomy in process. I've also added some details such as trees in the distance and clouds, as original composition seemed a bit bare when polished
I struggled a lot with leaves, both background and foreground ones. In total, I've painted and re-painted them about a thousand times. Maybe I should draw better foliage in the sketch phase as well
If this one gets less likes then the WIP, I'll laugh
Time: 33h (geez...)
