‘𝑾𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒊𝒏 𝑬𝒙𝒖𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒔𝒊𝒂’ 2021
The more I create, the more difficult it gets for me to name things to compliment and do justice to the piece itself. Much of my work visually ‘describes’ complex inner worlds that are hard to describe in actual language…hence, the artwork
In finding a name for this piece, I knew I wanted to a contain a ‘cold’ word, for the obvious reasons that the color temperature of the piece is predominantly COLD So, there’s Winter.
What is Exulansia? It’s my slight modification of a recently coined word ‘exulansis’ from The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows( yes, it’s real and is as exquisitely emo as it sounds, look it up
Here is the definition:
𝙚𝙭𝙪𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙨
n. the tendency to give up trying to talk about an experience because people are unable to relate to it—whether through envy or pity or simple foreignness—which allows it to drift away from the rest of your life story, until the memory itself feels out of place, almost mythical, wandering restlessly in the fog, no longer even looking for a place to land.
