Summary: While on a meadow, Sanna spotted some fish in the stream.

It was warm and sunny on a day in May, and it was one of those days that made all creatures merry.

Looking around, one could hardly believe the harshness with which the northern winter has grasped this alpine landscape until only a few weeks ago. Except for the distant mountain tops, the snow was nowhere to be seen anymore, the nearby lake was crystal clear and void of ice, and the meadow flowers were in full bloom. And it was on this very day that Gabanna was feasting upon the mouth-watering herbs which covered the sunlit slope.

When in the middle of plucking a mouthful of this sugary and tasty green, she noticed her friend, a mountain lioness named Sanwara - although everybody shortened her name to Sanna, including herself - crouching on top of a near rock cliff.

Gabanna swallowed and raised her head. "Sanna? What have you found down there that you seem so interested in it?" the blue roan mare asked.

"Fish!" the lioness answered, "Look, they are swimming down there in the stream!"

Gabanna was curious to see the little critters, so she came closer, stretched her neck over the steep cliff's edge, and searched the water for a moment.

"Oh!" She exclaimed as soon as she spotted the slim silhouettes gliding beneath them, "There they are! Well, it's spring, maybe they are gathering there to breed?"

"Could be," the lioness nodded, "but most importantly, they are making me hungry."

"Well, Gabanna smiled, "then rather catch some fish before you bite me."

And with a smile at the beautiful day, she returned to her grass which neither ran or swam away.
