Description
I wanted to draw a scene from 's fan story alexvanarsdale.deviantart.com/β¦Scout sacrificed herself to save her friends and tried to hold off Grakon hordes alone. After almost being killed a Grakon named Teeko rescued her from certain death and ended up being an outcast among his kind.

Well that's the most adorable thing ever! Β He looks so much bigger than her here. Β Poor Scout. Β She really is beat up. Β And he seems so eager to help. Β So un-grakkon like. Β Good boy!

Aw thanks! I really like how it turned out. Poor Scout is right. She's been through a lot. I decided to make the Grakons a bit bigger in the new style so Teeko is a small guy still.
Yep. I think being sort of an outcast and living alone for so long made him a bit more compassionate.

Making them bigger is a good call I think. I admit, with their previous size it was a bit hard to find them intimidating, despite their awesomeness.
I always wanted to know there was a good Grakkon out there somewhere.

I did have some larger ones but most of them were about 4 feet. Not very intimidating. I was going for small and strong sort of like chimpanzees but I think bears would be better inspiration for Grakons.

Yeah. I could see where you were going. But on sight, at least, bears are scarier.

Forgot to say, those Grakons have impressive claws. Rygols aren't far behind either.

They have some big ones that's for sure.

I think the new style is a good idea. Now that one can see they have claws, it's easier to know what weapons are at each character's disposal if they get in a hand to hand fight.

I like drawing the details like that. Claws are awesome!

They sure are. With some species, I have trouble figuring out how long the claws can be without causing serious finger trouble. (I'm becoming tempted to make Lazakal hands only have three fingers.)

It sure did.Β
I do wonder if Grakon could have some sense of heroism, or at least respect it. After all, they'd need to be willing to lay down their lives or they wouldn't make a very good military.Β

Probably a twisted sense. The more enemies you take with you the more honorable you are.

Haha! Yep. In this case I think the Grakon may be a bit on the crazy side. It was a good thing for Scout though.

The Grakon elites are pumped up super strong Grakons. Being genetically altered they are also really smart.
