I feel as if it could use some color balance in photoshop; to give it more emotion.
Perhaps a little blue? Right now while technically nice it doesn't shout. I can't hear what it's saying.

I could be wrong here, but it looks as if it was a hard day to take this shot. The longer shutterspeed caused a bit of overexposure to other parts (the moss on your stones) The color in the background has darker green which feels more natural, but the line between the dark and light part is a bit harsh. The same plant has light and dark green. If you have photoshop, i think playing with the curves or levels would reveal better results, than using the burntool.
Composition wise, this is a great spot: the slight S-shape of the river draws in the attention of the viewer and keeps it longer in your image. It also gives a sense of depth, which always makes for a more interesting shot.
Overall, except for a bit of light-adjustement needed, this is a good shot.

This is a nice shot Alex... it does not deserve to be a scrap... I see you have been playing with the burn tool... very nice. Perhaps one thing I would do would be to rotate the image a couple of degrees clockwise.. It has a slight counterclockwise feel... well done

There wasn't much light around so I had to bump up the shutter speed for a few seconds but also bring the aperture down..
You keen on trying it?

hm.. i feel the contrast could be boosted more on the green, the moss looks a little faded, but then again that might mess up everything else so i dunno
