Description
Hi!This is a very simple, spontaneous painting I really couldn't help doing after my amazing younger sister wrote this lovely short story:
A Winter's Tale A Winter's Tale
I'm tired, she thought.
It was hard to keep her eyes open.
She didn't know what time it was. It was dark, it was cold, and the snow was falling down from the white-cushioned sky in thick flakes and covered the already snowy landscape; the field, the trees, the narrow path and the girl lying next to it, her legs slightly drawn towards her body, her face turned towards the sky. Gently the flakes landed and sat there like tiny animals with soft fur. They still melted on her face, hesitatingly; but the thin jacket, the legs, the bare hands were slowly covered, inch by inch.
She wasn't cold. The cold that had made every mo
It just blew me away, so I made this picture for her as an early christmas present.
I hope you like it, and please check out her writing, I think she's awesome and deserves way more recognition <3

hi hi
This is awesome, pure and simple. The simplicity is in fact, part of its awesomeness I think, it is like every mark is in just the right place that it doesn't need lots of detail work.

Writing is way underrated because its not instant satisfaction like looking at an image. You have to take the time to read, internalize, and analyze to understand and pull meaning from what you've read.

This reminded me of a book I recently read called Shiver. The very first chapter described a scene like this. Lovely work!

FrΓΆhliche Weihnachten!
Ein tolles Bild. Der Helligkeitskontrast ist auch wirklich toll eingesetzt... Und das Bild hat so eine tragische AtmosphΓ€re, ohne melodramatisch zu wirken.

You took the snow tone from real life, right? They aways use blue tones for it on photos (even if the sky isn't blue, argh .-.)
Also, loved the composition and the "fade" of colors on her clothing (looking from the coat until the shoes).

Absolutely beautiful. i love the limited color palette, the way you weren't afraid to obscure the figure's details by falling snow and the overall composition. It's all so strong yet so simple. LOVE.
