Boy this crossover would've been stupid. Almost as stupid as Godzilla vs Charles Barkley. Oh no I remember that comic (sobs).

Know what is funny. There was actually plans for a Batman vs. Godzilla movie back in the late 60's, but it was scrapped for reasons unknown. Probably right issues or something.

I've noticed that most giant monsters (Kaiju) in American comic books always get the short end of the stick, when it comes to one-on-one fights with human-sized superheroes.
I'm guessing it's because #1; prolonged action sequences are kind of hard to do in comic book form, unlike film where Chutari Leviathans and robotic Kryptonian World Engines cam stick around a little longer.
#2; Giant monsters are treated like the tallest henchmen in a predictable action movie, just something for the hero to quickly take down, and show off his or her's strength, before moving onto supposedly more interesting (and smaller) lead villains. A stupid cheat in my opinion, since I figure Kaiju would have to be super-tough to begin with, just to survive at their enlarged sizes. And thus, I would believe they'd be suitable, if not equal challenges for the likes of (regular, non-ludicrous strength) Superman, and The Hulk.
And #3; not many American writers give a crap about Kaiju / Giant Monsters what-so-ever, resulting in the aforementioned - as well as even fewer such people unwilling to tackle the subject matter seriously, or without getting cold feet at the last minute, because the concept is considered 'silly'.
No wonder we had to bring in an imaginative Mexican, and a destruction loving Brit to oversee "Pacific Rim" and the upcoming "Godzilla" reboot, respectively.
With all that said, Godzilla himself is a big leaguer, even amongst other Kaiju. And like Galactus, he's one of the few litterial giants in comics to hold his own, against super humans for prolonged periods of time, as was the case with the Marvel Comics from 1978-1979.
And one of Japanese movie Godzilla's powers has always been his nightmarish strength and almost supernatural invulnerability.Β Especially considering the movie opponents he's battled, like King Ghidorah, Mechagodzilla, 'Toho King Kong', Hedorah, Biollante, Destroyah, Space Godzilla, and even 'nice girl' Mothra. All of whom are also 'super-monsters' in their own rights!
Hope that helped answer your interesting question?

Apparently #2 was very much true in Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.

Man of Steel is like, the base minimal power of Superman, if you don't go to this first appearance level of strength.

This is awesome!! Both characters were made under Legendary and now they meet. Imagine if WB & Legendary made a Batman and Godzilla movie? Hell, throw in Superman and you got a deal. Batman must be SO fearless flying toward Godzilla. Godzilla must be like, "What the heck isΒ this insect?" Β

Of course, in the actual fight, Batman wouldn't take Godzilla head on. Maybe he'll use a Mecha-Bat or something.

All evidence of the 'March Madness' character contest has been removed from the Facebook page and Twitter. Do we know who won and why it was removed?
It's safe to assume it's Godzilla. Whenever I read any of the comments, even if Godzilla wasn't in the match up, everyone was saying "doesn't matter, Godzilla's winning in the end."

Im feeling like some of these contests are bullshit just to gain attention. I entered the Bates Motel Contest on the A&E facebook Β page and they when the show was about to air all the contest info went poof! All us contestants get asking what happened but as far as I know, no one was ever proclaimed the winner or got the prize.Β

Speaking of contests, did you submit anything for the Champions Online costume pack design contest?

I sure hope not! An amazing prize, getting your design in the game. I won something similar a few years back. My character Duratok Gorehowl became an NPC.

I don't know if you already known of this, but back in 1966, Toho seriously considered doing a "Batman vs Godzilla" movie, due to the former character's popularity in Japan. And this happened months before the Adam West series came on air. Sadly, it didn't make it past the basic treatment / pitch at Toho.

The funny thing is, I know that, but only after I googled "batman vs godzilla" because of the character contest held by Legendary fanpage on facebook (Batman & Godzilla are the finalists).
