I just love your linework, Alice... it's so simple and flowy and elegant. Why is it that French artists - you, Orpheelin, VyrL - are so good at those sort of lines? Is there something in the water over there?

As for our style of drawing be it's similar because we have lots of influences and references in common. We might have read the same books, comics and such..
And Orpheelin and I were in the same school , but a few years appart.

What comics would you say have been influential for your style? I'm a great fan of Enrico Marini, for example, who also has a very elegant lineart style. If you have any comic recommendations for me, that would be great - even if it's French; I never understand comics anyway, I'm always too busy looking at the pictures!

Let me think... well for sure the works of Marini as well, I love his style of drawing and painting! I look at his books a lot to prepare the second chapter of weena.. as it will be 100% traditional.. O___o I love his new series with roman soldiers. *.*
For my ink work, I have been inspired a lot by Hugo Pratt, even if I find it a bit difficult to read....

Oooh, thank you! A lot of the links were broken, since some of the vowels didn't show up, but I've found nearly everything on amazon,de - and even better yet, in German too! Whee! Thanks so much for all those recommendations. I've added them all to my wishlist on amazon and will happily browse through them for the next year. ^^

hugs back blerg I came out of a whole week of insomnia, either I took two hours to find sleep, or I woke up in the middle of the night and couldn't sleep.
Strangely, I sleep better now that my sketchbook is now printing.

As for Morckoor and Weëna, I could imagine them speaking.. somehow in not friendly ways as they are dancing.

It's indeed one of my WTF ideas, I thought a tango would really suit them . They have a very complicated relationship that's for sure. In fact, she hates him in the series, that's why we don't see them together.
