Description
Eldritch entities native to the Mind-Maze at the supposed center of the polycosm. Their name is somewhat misleading as they are not organic in the traditional sense but are born from the Mind-Maze itself, budding like coral from its labyrinthine landscape, anthropomorphic tumors of an infinite brain. They possess no uniformity in their anatomy, save for their book-like “face. Each Book-Born comes to resemble those whose culture & history they come to study & chronicle across the polycosm recording their detached observations with their very flesh (or whatever equivalent of exotic matter they are composed of). The more information they absorb (their only apparent sustenance), the more “pages” appear to grow within their book like-head and their bodies accumulate layer upon layer of alien script & caligraphy. All Book-Born eventually return to the Mind-Maze from their pilgrimage amongst the myriad races of the polycosm, merging back with it & thereby adding their acquired wisdom to the ever expanding memory of the Maze. It is theorized that the entire history of the polycosm is recorded within the twisting corridors of the Mind-Maze, serving as the collective memory of all creation.
