A little worldbuilding thing for my personal spore universe.

Quick guide I made for color variation in Daybreak grox. Not at all comprehensive! Each variation can come in many different shades. Pattern variation is very minimally covered here. GMO variants also aren't shown here.

I have a relatively important grox character that corresponds to each variation seen here, Actually! I'll list them, alongside some fun facts if applicable.

Classic/Red: Seen on Epsilon and Erebus, As well as most background characters. The most common color seen on grox. Can range very heavily in color, Hue, Saturation, and Contrast. Can appear orange or even a bit brown (Although not the same as a "True" brown grox). Can occur with any eye color, Although green is overwhelmingly the most common color.

Purple: Rosetted variant seen on Altair, And a strange variant can be seen on Nova. Very common among the general population, But not nearly as common as Red is. Once belonged to a sort of "Subspecies" that was assimilated into the general population, Bringing their unique purple coats with them. Commonly occurs with yellow eyes.

Cream/Blonde: Lynx point variant seen on Solstice. Commonly occurs with blue eyes.

Brown: Seen on Deimos.

Melanistic/Black: Seen on Orion, As well as one half of Eclipse. Commonly occurs with deep orange or gold eyes.

Albino: Seen on Sidera. Prone to blindness and typically have very sensitive skin. It's not uncommon to see Albino grox with both eyes replaced with cybernetics.

"Blue": Seen on Luna and Bea. Not a true blue color, Rather a blue-gray. Different from the extraordinarily rare bright blue seen on Celeste.

Pink: Seen on Azaya (With Frosting) and Uranium, As well as a low-expression variant on one half of Eclipse. Usually caused by a grox having only one copy of the gene that causes purple fur.
