Description

This is an in-universe map of my world, Ellaris. Here is a map showing the countries at the time of this map's creation, as well as a map showing the accurate positioning and names of cities so you can see what this world actually looks like.
Lore wise, this was made by cartographers in the far west, either Bode or Grech. As such, the north western parts of the map are much more accurate than the east. I did end up making the map more accurate than I intended, but there are still some notable errors in the east.
I was inspired by a number of IRL medieval maps as can be found here, as well as the medieval font I used for the region and sea names.
Inspiration also came from u/Kakaka-sir 's medieval map of their world, found here: www.reddit.com/r/worldbuilding… . Although I didn't take much direct inspiration as I couldn't find their map for most of the time I spent making mine, so I took inspiration from my memories lol.
Although this is a fantasy world, none of the creatures are real (although some are just misinterpretations of descriptions of real animals). Instead they come from mythology and rumour.
All of the art was drawn by me, but the Hell and Heaven and Sun and Moon art in the corners were heavily inspired by medieval wood prints and the artist Hieronymus Bosch.
