This is extremely beautiful. I love the dim lighting, and how the little house seems to be suspended on a precarious hill. Beautifully simplistic. <3

the scenery on the candle is painted on. The cracked glass is part of the glass.

This is really cool, love the background specular highlights?

Just a thought, have you ever played with "Aperture manipulation"? With a wide aperture lens, you can cut out shapes from black card, as long is it is smaller than the actual lens aperture and place it over the front of the lens and the background specular highlights , will take on the shape that you cut from the card, the time of year, may work with a star shaped manipulated aperture.

I have done this using a 50mm f1.4 lens, Cokin filter holder with the card cut to fit into the closest filter slot, works ok at f2, not sure about f2.8, maybe worth a play next time you do something like this though.
