Description  DIRECTIONS:

Linework - Just simply draw out the character! It can even be a sketch, like with this one

Flat Colour - Lay down the basic colours! Just use any old pen tool, nothing fancy ;0

Blush - This is where we add the red tints to the skin! Cheeks, shoulders and noses tend to have more colour (in my style at least!), so just add shades of pink and blend them out. Use a multiply layer for the best results!

Shading - Or shadows,, take a brush tool and lightly paint in the shadows on the face depending on your light source. My light source is coming from the top left and shining down. With that light, there should be shadows on the right side of the face, getting darker the farther they go back, with a small shadow under the nose and a hard shadow under the chin. Use a multiply layer or a shade layer!

Lights + Depth - Keep your light source in mind for this! Take the skin colour and use a screen layer, painting in highlights such as the tip of the nose, chin, forehead and collarbones. I tend to add hard light in the inner corner of the eyes to make them stand out more. If you want more depth in the face, paint a long strip of lighter colour stretching from the top lip to the under lid of the eyes and blend it out.

Details - My favourite part! I like to add a lot of sparkles with white and a luminosity layer to make it sparkle. Also, mess around a lot with the Contrast/Saturation bars. I add a pink and purple tint with an overlay layer to give the face more colour and to heighten the place of the light source.

Hope this helped!!
