Description
Last image made me realize I need to plan my colors out more, because otherwise objects might become less distinct than intended. The pink of the last image’s bikini frills is similar enough to the magenta of the bikini itself that it takes effort to see that they’re a different color, which makes the sum total image much harder to read.

While most color combinations are fine, colors that are close to each other need to be watched so that they don’t blend together. This problem is more likely to come up now that I own an expanded set of color pencils which includes more colors that are similar to each other.

Fortunately, because I made this mistake in an image where it didn’t completely screw everything up, not much effort was lost to learn that fact. The slate of the foreground building in this image was specifically checked against the silver of the background building before I started coloring them in, so that if the colors were too similar I wouldn’t lose significant effort to that fact.
