Description
Seven years passed and we awoke to a new world. Everyone had aged while we had stayed the same. It was hard to understand but the other guild members seemed to ignore it. I wasn’t the same when I woke up, the haunting eyes of my father stayed fresh in my mind. What he had told me brought chills to my spine. It was something that I would never be able to get over. The darkness, the creature, the magic that dwelled in me was scratching at the walls more since we had returned to Fairy Tail. It was becoming harder to control, I had spaced myself from the others since the smallest things were setting me off. I couldn’t live like this.
I had the fate of my father; I would eventually be consumed by the evil and change like he did. A sigh left my mouth as Mirajane passed me a drink. Normally I wasn’t a big drinker but that had changed. Everyone had seen the change especially Makarov. I was a danger to his family and I wouldn’t be disappointed if he threw me out.
Mirajane touched my hand and looked at me. “How are you feeling today?” She asked.
I looked at her and tried to bear a smile but it wasn’t working. I had told her how I’d been feeling lately and what was happening. “I don’t know, I can feel it surging. I just want to let it loose but if I do I might not be able to return back to me.” I explained.
“Everything will be okay. You’re a member of Fairy Tail, we believe you can fight it.” Mirajane said with a smile on her face.
I returned the smile and for once it was a real smile. Mirajane was like a sister to me, she is always looking after me. Natsu came and sat down next to me. He looked like he was about to explode with excitement.
“Guess what?” He asked me.
I raised an eyebrow at his behaviour. “I’m scared to ask.” I said slowly.
Before Natsu could say anything Gray pushed in front of him. “We are attending the Grand Magic Games.” Gray said.
Natsu punched him in the face before I could answer. I looked back over at Mirajane and she gave a slight nod as to confirm what Gray was saying was true. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. I looked back at the two fighting boys.
“Sound’s fun.”
Makarov walked up beside me and took the empty seat next to me. “I have chosen you to compete in the games but you are more than welcome to turn the offer down. I know what you’re capable of (Y/N), ever since that day I picked you up from the ground. I could see there was greatness in you. You were never meant to be in a dark guild, your heart belongs here with people that care for you.” He said watching as everyone interacted in the guild. He turned and gave me his famous smile.
I smiled back. He was right I didn’t belong in that dark guild that I had started in. I belonged where people cared for me and loved me. “Thanks old man. You know what I will compete in the games and show my father that I’m not going to be drawn into darkness.” I said a little too loud.
Everyone went quiet. They were all staring at me. Natsu stuck his fist up into the air and the rest of the guild followed. It was followed by the loud cheers of my guild mates. Gray put his arm around my shoulders and I joined them by sticking my fist in the air.
Natsu and I crawled off the train when we arrived in Crocus. Erza dragged me along behind her. I had requested a separate room away from everyone else. There was one problem though. The place Fairy Tail was staying was full so I wouldn’t be staying in the same place. The only room left was where Sabertooth was staying. I hadn’t heard much about them but some of the things I did hear weren’t great.
Erza walked me to my room. Bridgette was asleep in my arms. She slept a lot so most of the time I had to carry her. It was a good thing that she was light.
The room I got was huge. I placed Bridgette down on the couch and jumped onto my bed. Erza looked around.
“Maybe I should come and stay with you.” She commented as she walked out onto the veranda.
“Someone has to look after the troublemakers.” I laughed. “You are more than welcome to hang out here, company is nice.” I said getting up off my bed.
Erza turned and smiled at me. “I will keep that in mind but for now I will give you some space. I’m guessing everyone is going out tonight so they will be around the city. Just don’t stay out too late because the games start tomorrow and we need you to be wide awake to win.” Erza said before leaving.
I lay down on my bed and spread my arms out. It was good to finally relax. Bridgette jumped on the bed and sat down on my stomach. I patted her on the head and that’s when I saw the small scar on my hand.
Bridgette looked from me to my hand and flipped it over. “How did you manage to get this?” She asked in a bored tone.
“I got it when I got ambushed and those two boys helped me.” I explained looking at the scar on my hand. “I wonder where those two are now.” I said aloud.
“I wouldn’t have a clue and it would be a nightmare trying to find them now. They are probably a lot older now.” Bridgette said letting go of my hand.
She was right. I wonder never find them and if I did I wouldn’t know who they were. I gave off a sigh. I wanted to repay them for the help they gave me seven years ago.
A yawn escaped my mouth. Bridgette had already made herself at home in between my arm and my side. The trip to Crocus had been long and tiring. I closed my eyes; I only planned to sleep for a few minutes.
A knock came at my door and I suddenly woke up. It was dark outside and Bridgette was no longer by my side. She had a bad habit of disappearing on me. I got up and rubbed the sleep from my eyes. I opened the door to be greeted by Natsu. He grabbed me by the wrist and dragged me into the city.
We walked into a bar, there were other guilds there. A few of them I recognised but I was still half asleep and I didn’t want to be there. I moved away from everyone and sat down the back of the bar. Mirajane brought me a drink and left me to it. She knew me too well.
I sat by myself and watched as everyone else enjoyed themselves. Every now and then someone would come over and talk to me. It didn’t bother me; they would never stay for long.
I watched as the bar started to clear out. I was about to join them and go back to my room when a blond haired male sat down across from me. I didn’t know who he was. He stared at me.
“Old lady?” He asked in an unsure tone.
My eye twitched. “I’m not old.” I snapped back quietly. That’s when it hit me. I was looking at Sting, he wasn’t little anymore.
