My grandma was over protective after the vampyre incident but I was growing into a woman and she said she could handle the boys but a girl...

She sent me to this private school in South Carolina...well at least she tried to. The first few weeks there were hell. I was the only dark face there and to add insult to injury, most of the kids there came from money. The school was year long and I was shipped off in late June to attend. Luckily for me I wasn't the only different face there.

Another girl, a year older than me was new too. She was half japanese and she was developing pretty quickly, which made the girls hate her for two reasons. We hung out all the time, in fact her roomate offered to switch rooms with me (making my roomate very, very happy) and we would spend the nights just talking.

I never felt so close to another person outside my family until then, and this girl...Miki, well she was a lifesaver. I wanted to tell her everything about me....since she opened up and told me how her father had pretty much left her and her mom high and dry and he was the one footing the bill for this place, but her mom really didn't have much. I remember the night she told me, I was on the verge of tears. I remembered what my father had meant to me, so I wondered how this girl had felt when it was obvious that her father just didn't want to be with her. That night, I decided after class I would tell her the truth about me, the whole truth.

Fate has a funny way of working tho. We went behind the horse stables and I was just about to tell her when a mystical beast came out of the nearby woods and started to chase us...rather it started to chase me. Miki and I locked ourselves in the stable and screamed for help. Unfortunately this caused more of the beasties to appear. Finally the police were called in. Yet, the local cops weren't prepared to deal with something like that and they weren't going to risk their lives for a nigger and a chink, so they just blocked the area around the stable.

Two hours passed and when a few managed to get in, I secretly made some of the wood planks catch on fire and we held them back with those. If it wasn't for Captain Liberty (the real one) coming down from the sky, I might have had to reveal everything I could do.

As he sat there staring at Miki (I guess all men can't resist the sight of breast) I looked at his aura with my sight....it was human...not at all like Onyx's, just plain human...in fact it was very similar to Miki's. He looked at me for a second as I stared at him looking at Miki and he straightned himself and flew us both out. He told the press outside what heroes we both were and as he flew away I saw him give Miki another strange glance.

Miki and I talked that night and her utter disgust with anything magic, kept me from telling her my secret. The next day the kids started calling us Mammary Miki and Chocolate Girl but luckily my grandma and her mother took us out of the school.

Miki and I remained pen pals, then email friends. Once a year we get together, but this year she came to my home early. Her father (who she had established a relationship with for a couple of years) and her husband were killed by a hit and run driver. She was a wreak. The last time I talked to her, she was living in Salem...which holds special interest to me and I promised her that I'd visit her soon.
