I felt a sudden urge to paint another Thomas character. Despite being more of a steam engine guy, Diesel is one of my favorites.

It is kinda funny, though. His basis, the Class 08, has a lot of similarities to a steam engine. Really, instead of a boiler, it's a diesel motor. It adds to Diesel's arrogance that he thinks he's above steam power in that regard...especially since shunting is not as commonplace as it once was, more or less making it obsolete.

All things considered, the Class 08 is a pretty neat engine, and Diesel is a fun character. (He also has some of the best theme music in the whole classic series.)
