Description Quotes #13 | β€œHere I sit, broken hearted, came to shit, but only farted”

After a couple "off" weeks I'm back with a new Quotes. I got an order from a friend for more then a hundred new stickers with funny quotes on it. I changed the background, font and size from previous design. Since I got many complains how "this sh*t doesn't belong here on DA" I probably won't upload all of them, but I will post a link where you can see them...

New collection:
DA: [link]
Facebook: [link]

The old "finished" collection
DA: [link]
Facebook: [link]

About the quotes:
1.) I don't own any of the quotes in my collection (unless it's stated otherwise);
2.) Credit is given if the ORIGINAL author of the quote is known;
3.) Even if they are racist, sexist, etc. there is no offense intended; They are made strictly with entertaining purposes;
4.) I don't own any (copyrights), so you can use them however you want them;
5.) Possibly there are some grammar mistakes and it would be much appreciated, if you notice them, to let me know, so I can fix them asap;

I did read the description. I never said he owned the quotes, I'm saying he copied them from elsewhere. There's nothing really artistic about taking a black backdrop and throwing white words on top of it.

Yeah. I mean, it's just people with short attention spans. They see "deviant" and think "oh, nobody likes me, that makes this place perfect for me," without even stopping to consider the bit where the "art" isn't optional.

Kids these days, seriously. Good to see someone who has a brain around here.

I'm in utmost agreement. It really does get shady in some parts of DeviantART, and most likely, these people have come here for the name like you've mentioned; it shouldn't have them believing that it's okay to just throw something together without putting much thought/creativity into the work. Hey, thanks as well. It's nice to see another person with some common sense around here too. ;)

Yeah, those dumb rule-followers shouldn't call us out when we use plagiarism to gain popularity on a site meant for actual artwork. It's completely unreasonable for artists to be annoyed by junk. We should be allowed to ruin what could have been a good art website if we want to.

Yeah, every time someone commits a crime, let's just not look. If we ignore stupid, awful, shitty, or just generally incompetent things, they'll go away, right?

Nope, sorry, ignorance just makes you dumber.

No matter how hard I pretend that the "artist" has something better to do with their time, that doesn't make it any less false. So I might as well fill their time with posts telling them to stop being a lazy douche and actually produce something of quality if they want to submit things. Then maybe they might be motivated to gain some creativity or skill.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 3

Ketsueki-No-Megami In reply to TerriblySorryMiss [2012-11-16 01:22:36 +0000 UTC]

Well I never said what you said was a crime. I was just suggesting if you don't like it don't look at it and give others a pain. Other may like it.
And there are way worse things on the front page and instead of commenting negative things you can actually try to give constructive comments. If you really don't like it just don't comment.
Art is in the eye of the beholder. Persons actually like to see these kinds of things. I don't mean to offend you but this is MY opinion and you have yours.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

TerriblySorryMiss In reply to Ketsueki-No-Megami [2012-11-16 04:29:44 +0000 UTC]

Others may like it, sure. That doesn't mean they're not wrong.

And yes, there are worse things. Does that mean we should ignore small wrongdoings because of larger tragedies? Ridiculous. Nobody's going to say "Sorry, but you aren't allowed to feel sad that your grandparents died. A whole bunch of kids in Africa just got shot, and that's worse, so your problems don't matter." Think for a second before you decide to trot out a logical fallacy.

"Art is in the eye of the beholder" is the single most awful sentence in the art world. It makes everyone right, it makes everything beautiful, it means that no effort needs to be given, just make sure you appeal to the lowest common denominator.

No. You can be wrong. You can be terrible. You can, and should, be insulted because of your works. If you're complimented and worshiped because of what you do now, there will be no reason to improve. The whip pushed human civilization to achieve great things, and the sarcastic barb will drive it even further. Don't stand in the way of history, Ketsueki-No-Megami.

Ketsueki-No-Megami In reply to TerriblySorryMiss [2012-11-16 23:58:42 +0000 UTC]

So you're saying it's wrong to like it. Are you the dictator or something?

Look I don't know why you're making a huge deal out of this. Are you a child? You try to twist people's words so you can try to justify your own.
Also if you think the phrase 'Art is in the eye of the beholder' so much that is of course YOUR OPINION AND I HAVE MINE. I wish you could be a respectable person and understand that. Hey, I don't like abstract art but I don't go out specifically looking for it to say 'Hey this crap isn't art and doesn't belong here'! I RESPECT other opinions that THEY like abstract art. So I'm don't comment rude, impolite and discouraging words to them.

And if you think 'Art is in the eye of the beholder' is the worst sentence in the world try 'SORRY'. It gives people the mistaken impression that they can make things right with a SINGLE word.

Yes everyone can be wrong. But you are saying that someone like you should just go around BASHING SOMEONE ELSE'S WORK ALL THE TIME LIKE A TROLL. Sure you can comment negative things but let it be CONSTRUCTIVE!

I do not 'stand in the way of history'. DeviantArt is not the world. There is a real world outside of this site. I will speak my opinions and like what I like. And just because people like you appear I will not back down and give in my opinion.

I see no point in continuing a war online over a QUOTE of all things so I'm going to leave you to wallow in your hole of hate. This totally describes your generation today:Your Generation Hate

TerriblySorryMiss In reply to Ketsueki-No-Megami [2012-11-17 03:21:52 +0000 UTC]

I'm not a dictator, I'm a person, like you. The only difference is that I think about things rationally, while the same is not true of you.

Again, you keep going on and on with this "it's my opinion, so that means I can think whatever I want." You might want to re-read my last comment: not all opinions are equal. Some are more valid than others. You can't use the same logical fallacy that I just pointed out to argue against my pointing it out. That makes even less sense.

You also seem to have failed to comprehend that "rude, impolite, and discouraging words" do a lot more than cause some emotional harm for weak people. They also motivate people to improve: without seeing faults, there's no reason to improve. Therefore, someone has to point out the faults, especially on sites such as this which end up in circlejerks of "oh, you did such a good job with your minimal-effort production!" So no matter how counter-intuitive it may seem, "bashing" works is actually constructive. It's good motivation, better than empty compliments that serve only to stagnate creativity.

By discouraging all negative comments, you may not be standing in the way of history, but if everyone in the real world thought as you would, that would indeed bring all progress to a halt. No need to improve, no, everything you create is perfect the way it is. What rubbish. Almost as much rubbish as the idea that you are entitled to hold illogical and ridiculous opinions simply because you exist in the real world. You have the freedom to say and think what you will, and I have the freedom to point out how disappointingly incorrect you are.

And yes, all this is just over a quote. Not even an original one, not even something creative, clever, new, or even artistic. Don't you feel ashamed that you wasted so much time arguing an incorrect viewpoint, when you could have simply said something to spur the artist on and left? If not, then you should at least feel ashamed of that song you posted. It's not bad, but the lyrics are even more pretentious than I am. "Could it be you're deepest secret is you wish that you were me"? Really? Why on earth would I want to be someone whose entire existence relies on the comforts of delusion?

I'd explain this to your face, as you wish, but somehow I believe that you'd continue to misunderstand. Damn right that "this isn't how it's supposed to be." How about you follow your own advice, and get a clue?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Ketsueki-No-Megami In reply to TerriblySorryMiss [2012-11-17 14:21:06 +0000 UTC]

First of all I am really tired of trying to explain things to you. You don't try to understand.

Second of all I was not implying that song was about me and you. I don't wish for you to be like me. Obviously you did not understand that but OK.

Third, you want to comment negative OK again. But you aren't being constructive in saying what it is you exactly don't like. Commenting 'this shit doesn't belong on the internet' is definitely not constructive criticism and with that a person will not improve. I never said anything was perfect. You were the one who said that. There is freedom of speech and I do have the right to say what I please as do you.

Well you were the one who listened to it You didn't have to
Oh I'd love to listen to you explain it to me in person. Maybe then you would seem more rational. And yes, you should get a clue. I' tired of coming to my inbox just to see your hate mail. So you can continue on. I have nothing left to say to you.

Have a good day. This debate was at least fun

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

TerriblySorryMiss In reply to Ketsueki-No-Megami [2012-11-18 09:28:24 +0000 UTC]

This is where we differ. I won't get tired of explaining things to people, even if they don't try or don't want to understand. It has nothing to do with personal attributes or flaws, it's merely that my understanding of motivation is likely more accurate than yours.

Why would you post a song and mention the lyrics if you didn't agree with them? That's a bit of an odd thing to do.

Again, while constructive criticism has its place, comments such as "this shit doesn't belong on the internet" also contribute to people's improvement. It lets them know that the current content is not okay, and will discourage them from posting such types of content, hopefully causing them to think about what kind of content they should be submitting instead. And then they will work toward that goal, improving themselves along the way.

If you're tired of this, then very well. I'm not going to harass people when they're done with discussion.

You have a good day as well!

You forgot a comma. But yes, hyperbole serves an important purpose. You don't think I'm actually having emotional reactions over here, do you? That'd be ridiculous, I'm talking to what amounts to braindead vegetables in the comment thread of text masquerading as a finely crafted piece of art.

No offense, or anything. But you people aren't worth my emotion (not that my emotion is worth much, it's just not something I care to care about). Sorry if you got the wrong impression.

TerriblySorryMiss In reply to deviantcorn15 [2012-11-17 05:12:05 +0000 UTC]

I don't think you're scum of the earth. That was hyperbole again. You should really become less sensitive, it's not endearing at all. I'm just that I look down on you for overreacting after claiming I was reacting. Hypocrisy helps no one.

And if I was looking for shit, I'd go to deviantShit. Is that the name of this website? No?

Then you'll have to excuse me when I'm surprised to find so much shit here. It's quite unfair how shit connoisseurs can enjoy their subject of interest almost anywhere on the internet, and art connoisseurs are only able to find their quarry in the remote corners of this barren place. Forgive me for trying to reduce the shit in a place meant for art, that's surely my fault and my fault alone.

You know what, why bother with you! From the look of your account, I'd say that you're only here to troll. I'll let those shallower than me argue with you.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

TerriblySorryMiss In reply to deviantcorn15 [2012-11-17 05:22:50 +0000 UTC]

From the look of your account, I'd say that you need motivation to improve. You definitely have, but if you keep running into people like yourself who either ignore bad art or leave empty compliments, you're going to get nowhere. You need effort that will only come from realizing that the art you made isn't good, and could be much, much better. If helping people like that is called "trolling" by small-minded people, then let them call me what they wish. It won't change the fact that I'm propelling them to become better at what they love.

And yes, let those shallower than you argue. Those like me. Why is it that whenever I expect to be the most pretentious person commenting, some ridiculous white knight always comes in and proves me wrong?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

deviantcorn15 In reply to TerriblySorryMiss [2012-11-17 05:36:54 +0000 UTC]

No, telling people what the need to improve on and acting like a know it all that calls people small minded are two diffrent things. You should try to be a bit nicer, it makes people less likely to prove you wrong.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

TerriblySorryMiss In reply to deviantcorn15 [2012-11-17 07:44:14 +0000 UTC]

Except you've done nothing except flounder about, be a hypocrite, and fail to understand what I'm saying, all of which are quite far from proving anyone wrong, especially my claims regarding your level of intelligence. But I'm not going to argue about that. I should be nicer, right? I'll start practicing.

Your mediocrity looks stunning on you. Keep doing that, it will no doubt result in success. After all, you don't need to improve. Just stay at where you are in regards to skill level, and ignore all criticism. That's how real geniuses are made.

How'd I do?

There's nothing wrong with wasting one's breath as long as you waste it making other people understand how terrible their efforts are.

Complimenting people breeds stagnation. Only when one finds fault will one try to improve.

You should at least extend a modicum of effort to help people better themselves. It's only courteous.
