Description
A friend of mine wanted me to paint something for her as a wedding gift. After a couple of failed attempts at portraits, lace, and cakes and the like, I started thinking about how marriage seems to have lost a bit of its sense of permanence in today's society.That got me to wondering what would happen if a couple were forced to stay together through extremely tough circumstances. (Like, maybe they were legless, baby-making cyborgs in some bleak future experimental laboratory.)
Could love blossom even in such dire conditions?
(And after reading that paragraph, I promise I will never try to explain one of my paintings again.)
Anyway, after I finished the painting, I decided I would just give them some candlesticks instead.

I adore your concept, a physical permanent bond sure would be scary, probably would drastically lower the marriage rate i bet XD. anyway I chose this one out of all your posts for I feel it has the greatest composition. I love how her hair flows in almost a parallel to the curvature of his body, gives a feel that both of them, while posing different (representing different souls) can still be unified in a way along with the physical bond. I also must say the amount of tones and colors within the skin is absolutely amazing, It shows almost all the reflected light and gives an extremely realistic effect. Also its awesome that you picked her to have red hair, its a great contrast between the dominating green in the picture. GREAT JOB =]

I love the overall atmosphere, this cyberpunk-ish setting the most. But what really catches my eye are those countless details... combined with the idea of the true meaning of marriage its one of the most alluring pictures I saw in the last weeks!

This is an amazing image. I love the idea behind it, though I'm sure it wouldn't work if you had to talk to a women for all that time lol. Great detail, especialy on the back of the man with the wires and stitches, and the greens and reds look great. Also the can and things on the desk gives it a small sence of nomality which I like. I'm sure she would have loved it as a gift, though candlesticks sound just as good. Realy good work, nice job man.

I really like the concept of this. And the green glow is very pleasing. I like the rose. It's a nice touch.
And I think the candlesticks were a wise choice. This pic is wonderful, but maybe not in a newlywed kind of way. ^_^
