Description Why all the spirals? Call it an experiment in texture. Not to mention, I just plain love the design itself.

Comments welcome. Want better details? Full view it! Made with Apophysis v.2.08b. Border and text done in Adobe Illustrator 9.

This spiraling wonder has been featured here [link] if, for some reason, you do not want me to feature your fractals in my journal...drop me a note and I'll remove it from the set.

First, I truly and greatly appreciate such constructive criticism. How else would we (as artists) learn if there was no one around to tell us what can be truly seen within the artwork that they create?

So there is no point in getting upset or angry. It is feedback like this that gives the fuel to not only continue on with exploration and experimentation, but also to pursue onwards towards; yes something different and new. Don't you agree?

About my works:

-Yes, I realize many of them resemble each other and I suppose, yes, I do have my own reasons for making them so. My greatest one is that I tend to be a perfectionist; in a manner of speaking. Think of the scientist who say, discovers a new species of animal. They want to study it completely, everything from the physical aspect to the environmental aspect. That is exactly how I feel about my work.

I like to take the design (spiral in this instance) and discover everything there is to learn about it. From texture to gradient colors to the simple or the most complex designs. I want to know everything there is to know about it. That's just how I am. That's how I learn, is through exploration.

And honestly? Learning and then repeating a specific pattern all in the name of knowledge and experience can be boring at many a time. But the way I see it? Is that yes, many of my works are reminders of one another--one phase, one level--different than the last and why is that? It's not only for the learning, but also for the skills and finesse, which are gained at the end of the lesson. Make sense?

Like the things you learn in school. Say, mathematics. To learn how to divide or multiply or whatever, you must repeat the problems which are given to you in order to find a solution. Same thing goes for medicine or science. There is a problem and a solution must be found; but in order to find such a solution--you have to study, learn, and experiment through repeated trial and error.

What does this have to do with my work or fractals in general? Everything. Same process. As for personal computers being tools, yes they are. It depends on how you use them in order to get the results you want. I use mine for many things to achieve what I need to do to get work, projects, or art done. So many artists rely heavily on their PC's to create art; unlike many centuries ago where it was exclusively paint and canvas.

I use what tools and programs I have in order to not only create and learn about art, but to learn about my own artistic nature. Everyone has a different nature (I don't care to the word style-too generalized) and by creating and practicing art, we can learn much about ourselves as people.

What is the "art thing"? What does that term mean exactly? Do you know? Do I know? I don't think I do. I do not create art simply for an "art thing". I prefer not to let myself become bound by terminology and generalizations which are used to describe what art is or isn't. Art is what it is. It's the method of which it is born, created, brought into being by the passion of the creator. The artist. Honestly, the term "art thing" is just that. A term. It has nothing to do at all with the feelings, the passion, the desire, or the ability to create art and the pride of when such a time comes as the art created is finished and freely shared with the "public" at large.

You are the viewer. You are the critic. When you take the time to look at an artist's works of art, thoughts form in your mind, your eyes see what they interpret within the piece. You give your view based on what you see. That is the same with everyone. I don't expect every viewer to oohh and ahhh over my works. I don't expect them all to like or love my art. Like it, love it, hate it, don't look at it. It's the attitude of acceptance of the viewer's choice that can evoke the artist's response stronger than any that I know of to either allow themselves to benefit or not from critique given them; whether good, bad, or neutral.

As for my opinion? Well, does it really count? You have given me the insight on what you think of my works and the way they are rendered. Have you not? I respect that. And I respect you for stating what's truly on your mind. As for responding in a negative way to such criticism that you've given-as you mentioned above-why? What would be the point? Except perhaps to be rude and show the world that I had no manners and was nothing more than an ungracious person. Right?

As for changing your mind about my works: No. That is not up to me. That, my friend, is up to you. You are the viewer. I cannot tell you what to like and dislike about my art more than I could about anyone else's. Only the viewer has the power to rethink his/her former opinion of another's art, art form, or anything else, for that matter. That's your right. No one can take that from you, unless you let them.

In closing, I'm going to continue to make my art, yes, the way I want to. I'm going to continue to study, learn, and strive for that perfection. I'm going to continue to accept criticism for what it is: a tool of learning. A very important one. I'm going to continue to enjoy the process of creation and the passion inside which inspires me to create whatever it is that wants to be created.

In short, yes. I will do whatever I enjoy and there is nothing that I will allow to crush or dampen what artistic spirit is within me. I will always create art and whether it's appreciated or not; my art will always have one who has a great love for it-me.

Thank you once again for taking the time to give such in depth and constructive criticism. I hope my reply to it has both covered and answered what was said above.

It's pretty good..I like it..But I have to say that most of your deviations resemble each other and I find it reeaallyy boring looking every day the BIG number of your new ones which look so much alike (That's my opinion and of course I don't want to insult you ) I just didn't want to make a comment that would say how beautiful your work is (beacuse yeah, many of your deviations are beautiful) but I believe that you overdo it..Of course you can say ''Don't look at them @%@#''
Or ''Why do you care?'' or '' I make WHATEVER I want so f.u. '' I agree that everything depends on you and on what you want to make and that you make whatever you like and want etc. etc. But sometimes I say ''Where is the ''art thing'' here?'' I feel a bit confused and maybe dissapointed when somebody uses a tool ( In this case, a personal computer) and just has the knowledge to give the exact commands that the PC will carry out perfectly. Ok the ''art thing'' is in the thought of the creation and not the way of its being created. Yeah that's what I also believe but a creator is more like the CREATOR when HE makes his unreal creation reality with his own capabilities.

I would like you to tell to me what is your opinion about what I said before and maybe make me change my mind about digital work and your work. Of course Ι appreciate your work but maybe I lack in knowledge, and sharing it is a good thing..

I'm sorry for my bad english but I'm still youunggg and bored to learn this language (Yeah I'm bored doing maaaany things )
