For this piece Capcom wanted something that divided the image into two which essentially showcased two classic games in Final Fight and Magic Sword. This was a bit of a challenge as I didn’t want the division to take away from the overall composition so eventually I settled with a suggestive, “ying yang” composition, using the main character’s heads of both games as the dots of the formation. As you can see it’s not a perfect circle here but in the end all I wanted was the energy and flow to translate but not necessarily to dominate the entire image. So at every opportunity I tried to warp the lineart to mimic that flow to a certain extent. I hope it came out alright!

I just learned about Final Fight yesterday watching a video about a videogame nerd ranting about Street Fighter 2010, Final Fight which has nothing to do with Street Fighter or Final Fight.

Wonderful piece! I will definitely be participating in this if only to have some fun with coloring such wonderful artwork. If I may, I know very little about the Magic Sword series. I've searched high and low but have only found a few decent pictures for reference. Do you recommend any websites?
