Description After some fits and struggles, the "Songverse" seems to be coming into clearer and clearer focus in my head.  I finally have an idea for an introductory story that I'm satisfied with, and am hoping to have that completed by mid-to-late September...

I've also come to the conclusion that Songbird should have a sidekick.    And, to that end... meet Lexie.  Her progression has been curious--she started off in my head purely in a civilian support role, but over time she started angling for a more active role in the stories I want to tell.  The above is not a PERFECT representation of how I see her, thanks to the limitations of X-Girl on Doll Divine, but it's pretty damn close to what I'm seeing in my head.

And, without further ado, Lexie's bio.  Feedback, as always, appreciated...

FANTASY CASTING: Sammi Hanratty

HEROINE: Hummingbird

ALTER EGO: Lexie Shepherd

AGE: 19

OCCUPATION: Undergrad

HEIGHT: 5’1”

WEIGHT: 111lbs

HAIR: Light brown

EYES: Blue

ETHNICITY: Caucasian

POWERS/ABILITIES:

--Tech/computer genius

--She possesses mechanical wings, which she herself designed.  They are purple and metallic, and can be deployed from or retract into a jetpack-style case worn against her back.

--Her wrist gauntlets contain pulse blasters, which emit concentrated, high frequency sonic waves.

--Enhanced vision

--More a mutation than a power, but Lexie possesses a highly advanced metabolic rate.  This keeps her not only incredibly trim, no matter how much she might eat, but also has impacted her growth—or lack thereof.

WEAKNESSES/VULNERABILITIES:

--Inexperienced

--She has no offensive superpowers in her own right.  If she is disarmed of her wings or other gadgets/weapons, she is as vulnerable as an ordinary human.

--While she is quite agile, she is not exceptionally strong, owing in part to her lack of size.

BIO:

Lexie Shepherd was born on September 20, 1998, in Montezuma, Arizona—and the older she has gotten, the more she has stood out, at least in terms of her own family.  For one thing, by a good foot, she is the shortest member of her family…

But she’s always been fast to milestones.  She said her first word at 5 months of age, was reading by the age of 3, and was writing computer programs by age 5.  The last of those was a particular source of pride to her father, Thaddeus Shepherd, a professor of computer sciences at Montezuma State University.  And he encouraged her talents there as much as humanly possible.

Lexie also proved to be something of an academic prodigy, graduating high school at age 16.  While she had her pick of colleges to attend, she chose to stay close to home, enrolling at MSU.  During her sophomore year at MSU, she became friends with Allison Vogel and Michelle Morrison.  Also during her sophomore year, stories of a costumed heroine called Songbird started to pop up in the press, and those stories inspired Lexie to try to make her own contributions to the fight against crime…

Purely unrelated to this, Lexie had discovered that the apartment she had moved into to start her sophomore year not only had a basement, but that basement also had a secret chamber.  Why, she had no idea, and having already been thinking about transforming that chamber into a personal lab, it now became a place for her to start building the weapons and devices that would allow her to take on the bigger, badder criminal world, adopting the moniker of Hummingbird—inspired partly by Songbird, and partly by her diminutive frame.

Perhaps inevitably, the paths of Songbird and Hummingbird would cross.  Both would prove stunned to eventually learn the other’s identity, but doing so soon lead them to join forces.

Lexie might be a certified genius, but she’s also an unapologetic, fun-loving, wildly optimistic goofball.  While serious about the pursuit of justice, in her civilian guise or in the privacy her lab, she can be prone to bouts of silliness.  A bundle of energy, she has difficulty staying still.  She works standing up, and seems to almost never sit down.  Curiously enough, on the rare occasions that she DOES take a seat, she has a quirk of turning the chair backwards before sitting down.
