Description
Irdhin is the capitol of Tembria in the high north of Amadir in the D&D campaign Iยดm running.A year ago the old King, Beryn-The Bear suffered a mysterious illness and later passed away. As he got ill his son, Prince Bahrin, left the city with his guards to slay Trolls and get Trollblood, because the healer told him to bring some, because it might be helpful to cure his father. During this time a man called Goran started a riot and gathered people around himself to challenge the throne. A civil war started and it came to many gory battles, brother against brother. After King Bery passed away they wanted the throne and Prince Bahrin almost didnยดt make it back in time to fight back the attacking army that held the city under siege.
With the help of his sister and some close friends he managed to win over the armies of his father and one of his best fighters challenged Goran for a duel. After Goran was defeated, his followers kneeled before their new leader and future King. Bahrin became King of Tembria after this.
Tembria is a city of over two hundred thousand inhabitants. It lies in a valley surrounded by mountains and deep forests and is divided by the Barbadrahn, a river that flows hundreds of miles into the sea. Irdhin is a place where many religions come together. The main temple in Irdhin is dedicated to Kalharon, Adros, Babatue, Ithon, Vinesthi and Brontis. Three fortresses are located on the northern, eastern and western city walls to offer people protection in times of war. Bear Rock is a hill in the center of Irdhin on which the old king built the royal palace, which is more of a keep than a palace.
The city is also home to a large prison, an arena run by the cult of Brontis, three libraries, several barracks and military quarters, two bathhouses, six marketplaces and a dozen smaller temples and shrines to other gods. In addition to numerous taverns, stores, craft workshops, brothels and inns, the city is also home to a number of guilds.
Tembria is known for its trade in iron ore, copper ore, Tembrian oak, hides and furs, Tembrian malt, rye and wheat as well as sun salmon.
