Personality : Loner, prefers own company, temperamental when held back. Level headed, focused. Enjoys her work but tendency to be bossy or sour on the ground. Knows her strength and will use it to her advantage.

History : Dezzie (previously named Essie) arrived at Phoenix Down Stables after a barn fire forced her owner to sell many of the horses. On review, Nell could see that she was a solid foundation type mare who, although still young, had settled well into the task of working cattle. She enjoys her work under saddle but is rather intolerant to being fussed over. She isn't one to bite or kick but she can be a fidget and often has her ears laid back in idle threat. She knows her own strength and will become very hard mouthed and fight anyone who interferes with her work - she knows her job and needs very little input from the rider. Her ground manners are decent as long as she respects her handler. She has excellent conformation for her discipline with clean legs and a naturally low head set. Her head is fairly plain and course but she's built to last many years of hard work.
