Description The negativity
is not lost on me.
It reaches me in tinges,
bodily reactions,
unable to keep out.

Just like the cold
that you brought in
upon arrival.
It sticks to my feet
and will not let up,
no matter how I will
the warmth to come.

You seem much warmer
in your surroundings,
as familiar
as the day they were
presented to you.
The air grows stale.
You will ignore it.

And what makes you
so impervious,
how do your barriers
counter even
the coldest
days of the year?

If I knew,
perhaps I could
once again place
the locks in my
eyes, hide you
like the secret
you are.
The one that
everybody knows.

If I knew,
perhaps I could
once again
become perfect
and silent.
As familiar
as the day
that I became
that sour taste
in your mouth.
