Yeah. Maybe Rarity needed a mannequin for new dress and Spike just couldn't say "no" to her and Rarity went ahead and gave him make-up (and hairdo? Wig, magic, fancy fat, what you will feels would look best) to complete the look. With Spike being just as 'happy' as Rainbow is here.
