Author's Note: This was one of my favorite combat sequences to write. The frenzied, confused nature of the battle, the individual combats taking place in the water, turning over and burning the boats, Barlocke and Marsh's back-to-back fight, the hasty withdrawal under fire; perhaps the most flattering and helpful feedback I ever received in regards to writing Warhammer: 40,000 action was one that said, roughly, 'this is prime 40K right here.' That let me know I was doing something right for the setting I'm trying to depict.
