Description
Creature is inspired by fiddler crabs, spiders, scorpions, grasshoppers, monkeys, bulldogs, and more.I find it fun to do something straight from the mind rather than working from real images.
Made from many, many watch pieces, including gears, watch plates, spring barrels, watch winding stems, watch jewels, and clips. The lightbulb is a Christmas light. His spine is a watch band.
55mm front to back, 36mm wide, 25mm tall.

That's so cool! It makes me think of a tiny automaton that someone might create to sneak in and record private conversations.

hah, I read that as "Hand for sale."
Nice piece, the delicacy and fluidity of form is very pleasing.

Tweezers, solder, soldering iron, heat resistant putty, steady hands, somewhat good eyes.

That is really good! I am scared of spiders, and I find this slightly creepy, so the spider element of it is very realistic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did you weld it together or use tiny screws?

AMechanicalMind In reply to SunnyDayee [2012-11-13 23:54:41 +0000 UTC]
It is all soldered together with lead free silver bearing solder. It's like a weld for small stuff.
