It's been a few years since I was assigned to this Melting plant, and I already know that I won't like it here.

It's unpleasant looking at the corpses of what are essentially our ancestors. sometimes they aren't even dead when we start cutting them up, they still might make a noise when their getting melted and that terrifies me.

The sight of these bare and rusted things make me feel something that I never think another diesel could feel.

If this is what the age of steam witnesses, then what will happen to us? what if there is a revolutionary locomotive that is more revolutionary than us?

I think that's exactly how those steamies felt when they heard about us. they knew that it was inevitable that such a thing could happen.

if it can terrify them, then It can terrify us.

I had this feeling for a long time, and I think I should do something about it.

Last month we got a shipment, looks like it an Autotank from the Great Western, funny thing knowing that It was hooked up with the coach to pare, and with a Toad breakvan.

I told the workers to leave it in the storage shed, I spoke to it, told me it's name is Oliver. He said he escaped his old railway due to it being Dieselized.

I made it a promise that I would keep him in that spot in the shed till someone took interest, and yesterday, when I did my daily check, and he was gone.

no one said he was cut up, or moved, they say some engine took him, and went away. I think it was for the best.

what about me? well I think I can pull off a few more of these, they wouldn't suspect a diesel out of all types of engines to deliberately save another engine.

If it's worth my withdraw, then I'll still be smiling when they melt me down. I have the perfect song to sing too when it's all over, it will plague there minds for decades and in there most vulnerable moments, there hear me singing...
