ok, here it is, my take on Richard the New engine.

His story is basically the same. but after taking a closer look at his old livery, and I noticed something was off. his old Livery doesn't even match the SR/BR Green Livery he's supposed to have, he had RED lining, and the Blue-ish green he had was on his cylinders, even though SR engines at the time didn't have their cylinders match the color of the boiler. and it reminded me of a particular engine.

so my Head Cannon for Richard is that he was sold to a private railway, that's why there aren't any logos seen on him when he was saved. at some point, he was scheduled to visit Sodor and pick up a Passenger train, and had an accident. more specifically, a Derailment. (yes I'm going that route) once he was re-railed, he continued his working life for the private railway, and was eventually retired, and housed in a Scrapyard until he was ordered to be cut up years later.

then he gets saved by henry, and all the regular shmuck happens, blah blah blah.

so yeah, that's my head cannon for Richard. if you wanna use these sprites, please credit me if you do.
