Amelie-the-Fox — The Roses in May

Description *watercolours, colour pencils, paper*

The original name of this painting is " An Afternoon dedicated to the poems", but it's too long to be fitted in the "title column" =.+

I don't really love this piece after I've finished it. Anyway, it has a feeling of summer. ( In fact I love the title more )

This is another work related to Italy. When I studied in Assisi, one day I went hiking on my own. ( Hey girl, it's dangerous! ) While I was wandering in the mountain, suddenly I saw a gorgeous gate and beside it wrote " La Villa delle Rose di Maggio " ( The Villa of the roses in May). I couldn't really see the villa behind the gate, but I just pondered in front of the gate and began my reveries...XD

The script in the gentleman's hand writes " La Divina Commedia, Dante Alighieri -- Il Paradiso, Canto I " ( The Divine Comedy, Dante Alighieri -- The Paradise, Lyric poem 1 ) since Dante is my favourite poet. The two characters are reading the verses of this poem in a sunny afternoon.

Perhaps when the mid-summer comes, I'll work on another painting related to the sea, but certainly NOT in the love theme.

Something I found in a storybook, I'd have to note you the entire thing.

Anyway, it involved a hero and his princess, and the picture reminds me of them.

This totally reminds me of Bel Air by Malice Mizer especially the guy because he reminds me of Gackt but overall the painting is beautiful : )

this is beautiful. and the way you did the watercolors looks great. i really like the idea, the setting is very peaceful. you did great!

for some reason, the man here reminds me of this photo of Gackt (J-rock singer) i saw one time. he had a similar hairstyle and outfit.

This painting reminds me very much of a mini movie called Bel Air (the band called Malice Mizer did it). I can't tell exactly why but the painting has this certain "vibe" in it. I must say that this is absolutely beautiful ^-^ Good work!
