Description Took some liberties with Ramona's design to fit my style. I loveeee how this came out. Originally, I was going to make Ramona taller than Hycainth and lankier. However when I was drawing them, they kind of gave themselves their own builds. Hyacinth is stockier but in a well-built sort of way, and is taller by a bit. Ramona has a slender, lithe form. Sort of frail but not that easily broken. I think it fits their characters better than what I was going for.

Anyway for some explanation; These two come from a wilderness dominated place where a mutation in flora has caused many of them to become parasitic. These mutated flowers attach themselves to a host. When this first occurred, on a deer, it was assumed to be a blessing or something like that and these 'flower carriers' where held high in society. Strangely enough, these animals also began to develop odd, unexplained power. But, the true nature of the parasitic flowers came out when suddenly these animals were found with flowers sprouting out of their skin and causing massive damage to the bodies as they grew and multiplied inside and out.

Generations later, the animals took a surprising turn from the wilderness and quickly erected their own 'towns' and 'cities' in human-like fashion to escape the ever-growing threat of the parasitic flowers. The animals' bodies also evolved to fight the flower parasites. Soon, animals were capable of being hosts to the parasites without causing much damage to the body while being able to harness the powers the flowers gave them. Their bodies were strong enough to fight off the flowers and keep them rooted to the surface, rather than implanting on their internal organs and rupturing the body. But with this, the flowers also mutated. Only a few kept their parasitic mutations, along with a few new tricks, while others became mobile, able to use roots and vines to attack and that whole thing blah blah it's evil flowers. Let's just say the flowers can 'kidnap' animals and force them to become hosts and often pretend to be normal flowers in order to trick young animals before they snatch them and implant the parasitic flowers.

ANYWAY, Hyacinth is a 'princess' of sorts. She's more like a high ranking warrior and was trained to be such since she was a pup. Her family has a remarkable resistance to the flower parasites with a high percentage of non-carriers. Hyacinth wasn't that lucky, but due to her impressive genes she only has a few symptoms and, actually, is more powerful due to the abilities the tiny flowers attached to her imbue. They mixed in well with the training she already had as a young wolf to make her quite the force to be reckon with. However, she has to be careful with how much of the flower's power she uses. While prolonged use of the powers causes the flowers to grow more and become stronger for most animals, for Hyacinth and her bloodline, it attacks their mind and makes them susceptible to snapping or even being brainwashed into a slave to their parasites.

On the other side of the spectrum is Ramona. Her body has been fighting it's flower parasite since she was a pup. She's one of the unfortunate pups who didn't listen to her parent's warnings about the dangers of flowers. She approached an innocent white flower to sniff it, and before she could blink she was ensnared by it's roots and got a flower shoved into her eye. It took root right on the socket. Her parents rushed to her and killed the flowers before anymore parasites could be implanted on her, but it was too late, she was a host now. Removing the flower, if they could, would mean removing the eyeball, and Ramona's parents couldn't afford to go to a healer. The best thing to do was to leave it. Ramona's immune system wasn't strong however, and the parasite spread more flowers on her body. They were able to stop anymore from growing after Ramona's parents scrounged up the coin to pay for a healer, who gave Ramona a vial of liquid to take a sip of every week. The concoction strengthens Ramona's immune system as well as causes the petals of the flowers to wilt every so often and fall away, making the parasite too busy with healing itself to work on spreading to Ramona's internal organs. When Ramona got older, she learned how to make the potion herself and became a healer.

(This part may not be official) Hyacinth and Ramona met one fateful day when Ramona was selling some healing herbs at a market-esque area and Hyacinth was patrolling the streets for suspicious activity. She saw Ramona talking to another commoner and witnessed Ramona offer something vaguely flower-like to the potential buyer. Seeing the level of parasitism on Ramona, Hyacinth assumed she was one of those animals who had become possessed by their parasite flower and was trying to implant a parasite on the customer. She sprang into action, preparing for a fight as she barreled towards Ramona's stall. The two got into a short altercation before Ramona revealed the item she was trying to sell was a dried herb that was in no way a parasite or even alive. Upset over once again being stereotyped due to her appearance, aka the large flowers sprouting from her body, she ran off, only grabbing a small bag of her healer items and leaving the rest with her stall.

Then more stuff happened but if I keep writing about it we'll have a novel and I just wanna post this and go to bed. But the gist of these two are; Ramona and Hyacinth team up to fight flower monsters (after discovering some plot or something), get recognized by whatever group is governing their city/society and get hero-status as they embark on a quest to stop the flower's master plan or something like that while keeping each other sane so one doesn't become consumed by her parasite (Ramona) and the other doesn't lose her mind to the flowers (Hyacinth), as well as deal with their ever-growing feelings for each other. Just fluffy kick-ass save-the-world-while-trying-not-to-succumb-to-our-demons stuff that I am a sucker for.

Plus lesbian wolves.

Find a few more doodles of them that i may or may not color here;

I adopted Ramona from P0RNSTARS and I adopted Hyacinth from Pagerda (K I am done tagging u guys <3 Just wanted u to see the colored version of the doodles)
