Description

This is just my interpretation of what may have been going through Lin’s head right before she lost her bending. She became rooted to her element, feeling it for the final time, determined to remain strong and proud and defiant. Remembering the times she trained with her mother, remembering how Aang and Tenzin helped her incorporate air bending into her metal bending. Being like the trees on air temple island or the one in her childhood home’s back yard and how they rooted themselves deep into the earth. (part of this idea comes from my friend Liz’s fanfic )
Lin has always represented strength and resilience for me. Even during that difficult scene.
